This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile game Road to the Crown (the “App”), published by YT Lab (“we”, “us”), handles information. The App has no sign-up, no password and no email address: you never tell us who you are. It does, however, have online leaderboards, so some game data does leave your device. This page says exactly what, and when.
1. What stays on your device
Your saved game — squads, album stickers, career progress, trophies, settings and chosen language — is stored on your own device. We do not upload your save, and deleting the App deletes it.
2. What is sent to our servers, and only for the leaderboards
The App uses Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore) to run its leaderboards. The first time it runs it signs in anonymously: Firebase issues a random identifier for your installation. It is not linked to your Apple ID, Google account, email address or phone number, and we cannot use it to identify you.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| An anonymous installation identifier | So your entry stays yours between sessions |
| A nickname you choose (2–16 characters) | Shown publicly beside your rank |
| A country, taken from your device region and changeable in the App | Shown as a flag, and powers the per-country board |
| Scores, trophy counts and career results from finished runs | The rankings themselves |
| Line-ups you choose to pin to your profile | Shown publicly on your profile if you pin them |
Anything you put in your nickname becomes public, so please do not put personal information in it. Nothing else from your save is uploaded, and the App never asks for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
3. Crash reports and configuration
The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to report crashes (device model, operating system version, and the technical stack trace of the crash) and Firebase Remote Config to fetch settings such as which leagues are available. Neither carries your game save or your nickname.
4. Advertising
The App shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and use certain data, such as a device advertising identifier, IP address, and general usage and interaction data. This is controlled by Google, not by us.
- In the EEA, UK and Switzerland we show a Google-certified consent (UMP) prompt before personalised ads are used.
- On iOS we show Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt; ads respect your choice.
- You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings at any time.
Learn how Google uses this data: Google Privacy & Terms.
5. Purchases
In-app purchases are handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details; we receive only the confirmation that a purchase succeeded, so the App can unlock what you bought.
6. What we do NOT do
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or precise location.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not ask you to create an account or sign in.
7. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided data through the App or through the ad networks, contact us and we will help address it.
8. Your choices & rights
Depending on your region (for example GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete data held about you.
- You can change your nickname in the App at any time. Your country is set once, when the profile is created, and cannot be changed afterwards — this stops players from hopping between national boards.
- To have your leaderboard entry and its anonymous identifier deleted from our servers, email us at the address below with the nickname and country shown on your profile. We will remove it.
- You can withdraw advertising consent via your device settings or reset your advertising identifier.
The App plays in full without a network connection; when it cannot reach the rankings it simply shows them as unavailable.
9. Data retention & security
On-device game data remains until you reset progress in the App or uninstall it. Leaderboard entries are kept while the App is published, except that weekly and monthly boards roll over on their own schedule. Data in transit is encrypted, and access to the leaderboard database is restricted by server-side security rules. Advertising data retention is governed by Google’s policies.
10. Legal note on game content
Every player in Road to the Crown is fictional. Names, records and career histories are generated. They are drawn from the statistical shape of real leagues — how often a shortstop hits 20 home runs, what a good earned-run average looked like in a given decade — so the game feels like baseball, but no card depicts a real person, living or dead, and any resemblance to a real player is unintended.
Clubs are shown as generic aliases of a city and a colour, never by name or crest, and leagues appear only as the countries they are played in. The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Major League Baseball, the KBO League, Nippon Professional Baseball, any club, or any players’ association.
11. Changes
We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date will change accordingly.
